Performance Events The Hague

P.S. – Performance Site, is an artists run initiative, multidisciplinary practices based on performance art and live art actions, without a fixed nest. We were founded in 2015 in The Hague. Currently it is run by four artists based in The Netherlands: Jolanda Jansen, Ronald Bal, Sara Russo, Kamila Wolszczak.

P.S. creates Space for a range of performance arts practices especially rooted in visual arts. P.S. wants to give the opportunity to artists to deepen their practice through workshops, collective events and experiments.

P.S. uses themes and guests that give the best input for research, insight and discussion. They try to make this accessible to the audience and participants who are less experienced, educated in this art form. Provide the opportunity to experience live art as an separated form of art and not as a supporting program.

P.S. wants to delve into the creative research on a topic and the possibilities that can deliver it to artists and their audience or/and participants. P.S. wants to give people the chance to learn from each other. They want the event to be productive altogether, that it is valuable.

P.S. aims to strengthen and make live art by arranging local, national and international exchanges, open sessions, festivals, workshops and projects.

P.S. artists intervene temporarily in various public venues. These range from artist run initiatives, galleries, art festivals, urban and rural spaces. P.S. is for their projects very concerned about finding inspiring locations to create an interesting dialog with Performance Art.

P.S. always focuses on art with content that gives the creation a deeper meaning, in terms of the subject but also through the imagination. Art that triggers the mind and creates contemplation. Performance Art that is genuine and authentic, that has a visual quality in composition and in relation to the environment and that also could be radical. We are interested in art that resonates and triggers the mind and evokes different ideas when one reflects on what is shown. This can be done in many ways, and we exclude nothing: sound, light, technology, installations or nothing at all, just a body.

P.S. started to do projects during Hoogtij in The Hague Through international projects of the organizers of P.S. connected to international artists and organisers with whom they collaborated in projects in The Hague, like: PAS Performance Art Studies by BBB Johannes Deimling; Venice International Performance Art week by Vest And Page; Marilyn Arsem; IPA International Performance Art Association! Jürgen Fritz; LADA Live Art Development Agency; Willem Wilhelmus

P.S. also cares about the development of performance art and live art in The Netherlands and works together with organisations like: This Art Fair
